Trauma is implicated as a risk factor in mental disorders, physical health conditions, social and occupational functioning, and quality of life. This INTERMEDIATE workshop will increase the competencies of psychologists interested in working with traumatized adults. Topics include: scope and impact of potentially traumatic events; assessment of trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); treatment of simple and complex PTSD; cultural competence; forensic assessment; and resources for providers, patients, and families.
