This program offers an overview of the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Diseases (ICD); an introduction to the ICD-10-CM set of diagnostic codes that will be required for billing and health information in the U.S. on 10/1/2014; and a preview of ICD-11 which is currently under development. The relationship to the DSM is also discussed. Program includes full course transcript.

Presenter: Carol D. Goodheart, EdD
Dr. Goodheart an independent practitioner in Princeton, New Jersey, specializing in the treatment of individuals, couples, and families coping with physical diseases or disabilities. She was the 2010 president of the American Psychological Association. An author/editor of eight books and many articles and chapters, her latest book is the A Primer for ICD-10-CM Users: Psychological and Behavioral Conditions, published by APA Books. In addition to her practice, she has served at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology in a number of roles, including clinical supervisor and contributing faculty.
