This program provides a basic overview of an eight part approach to the creation of wellness-oriented work cultures. The approach includes the following domains: communications; incentives; policy; leadership; virtual support; environment; revising norms; and evaluation. Based on a foundation of health promotion research and consulting work with more than 1,000 employers, recommended interventions are identified for each of these domains.

Presenter: Larry S. Chapman, MPH, President and CEO, Chapman Institute
Larry S. Chapman, MPH, currently serves as President and CEO of the Chapman Institute. The Institute specializes in training and technical assistance for worksite wellness practitioners and online training modules for consumers on wellness, medical self-care and consumer health topics. Larry has provided a wide range of thought leadership and consulting services on integrating health cost management, plan design, incentive systems and organized prevention programming for worksite, managed care and community-based populations during his professional career. He has spent more than 30 years improving the health of employees and their family members and has developed more than 1,000 employee health and productivity management programs including more than 200 wellness financial incentive programs.
Formally educated in environmental health, medical technology and medical care organization at UCLA and the University of Michigan, Larry is an internationally recognized expert and speaker on innovative health management strategies and interventions. He has also published 13 books and more than 190 professional articles and columns. Larry co-founded and served as Chairman of the Board of Summex Health Management, which was acquired by WebMD in 2006. Larry served as a Senior Vice President at WebMD until January 2010, prior to his move to the Chapman Institute.
