This is the first part of the Academic Career Education Series. 

Campus Visits (aka: job interviews) typically involve mission-critical meetings with deans, department chairs, search committees, graduate students,  lunch and dinner meetings, and conversations with a variety of other faculty and constituents across campus, in addition to the “crown jewel” of the campus visit: the job talk.  Each of these meetings have distinctive purposes and expectations, and knowing these at the outset gives you a substantial advantage in preparing for your campus visit and in conducting engaging and effective interactions. Come learn about the objectives of these meetings and how best to maximize your success in each the key meetings that will comprise your campus visit. Original webcast date: January 26, 2018.

Presenter

Dr. Greg J. Neimeyer is professor emeritus of psychology in the department of psychology at the University of Florida. A fellow of the American Psychological Association (Div. 17), he is also a recipient of its award for outstanding research in career and personality psychology. A previous Chair of the Executive Board of the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs in the United States, Dr. Neimeyer has also been inducted as a lifetime member into the Academy of Distinguished Teacher Scholars. He currently serves as the Director of the Office of Continuing Education in Psychology and the Center for Learning and Career Development at the American Psychological Association in Washington, D.C.
